Youth Development
The success and health of the youth of Butler County is paramount to our mission and purpose. We are committed to ensuring that the young people in our community have access to the tools and resources to help them achieve. Butler County Concern Citizens has pursued and continues to create positive efforts to support our youth so they can thrive.
As part of our dedication to educating the youth in the Butler County area, our organization has just recently started a STEM program to provide opportunities for youth of all ages to be enriched in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math. In the past, we have hosted and sponsored a group trip to the Alabama State University Teaching & Research Garden in Montgomery, Alabama to provide an opportunity for interested young people to learn about gardening and sustainability. This trip led to the establishment of the Butler County Concern Citizens Community Youth Garden in Greenville, Alabama and a number of events geared toward continuing to educate about horticultural fundamentals and best practices.
In order for young people anywhere to live well, it is imperative that they receive support and guidance. We make it our duty to provide the youth in our community with the whatever they need to grow into well-adjusted adults by providing mentorship and offering opportunities to work and be creative and innovative. We are also dedicated to ensuring student success by donating school supplies, food, and other necessities.
Just as it is important for children to obtain formal education, it is just as vital for them to have positive and fun social experiences. Butler County Concern Citizens has demonstrated our commitment to creating these experience through group trips to Red Tails Classic games, a movie night in the Butler County Concern Citizens Community Youth Garden, and amongst a host of other fun events for the community to enjoy.
